WhiteFox
I just installed the JaS 10.4.8 AMD release on my AMD laptop (Compaq 5101US). It has the dredded x200 video so i'm pretty sure thats what the problem is. This is my first install, and I have done a lot of searching but found nothing that I think could help me. When I first boot up, the apple logo on the white background shows up, and it has that spinning spur thing to show its loading, then it will just lock up, and I can hear the computer continue to start up by the sounds coming from the speakers (introduction window that displays on first boot after install). I have looked into the Callisto and Katana patches, but I'm not sure which to go with, and most of all, how to install them if I can't acces OSx86. I also have a WinXP install on the laptop which I can get into, but I know it won't be able to access the apple formatted drive. What to do next? WhiteFox
I got it to run. I just kept reinstalling and decided I would try to just install the bare minimum essentials. The only thing that isn't working is my onboard wireless, which I have no idea how to set up on a mac anyhow, but I'll look into it unless someone can help.
