HI!

I have a small question. At the moment I have a server motherboard with two single core xeon's on it, but I want to spend a few bucks and change this two single core for two dual core xeon's ( Xeon DP 3.4 GHz FSB 800 MHz ).

Will OS X handle it? Did anyone try a similar configuration?

I'm building an older Xeon hackintosh as we speak. I've installed JaS 10.4.8 but the system's display freezes on the gray Apple boot screen but I know the system is still working as there is HDD activity etc. I'm assuming the onboard ATI Rage XL is not supported, its detected as only being VESA 2.0 compliant.

Once I get a PCI video card I will try it again. Maybe a PCI slot FX5500 or x1300. (this mobo only has PCI-X slots)

Supermicro P4DP6 revision 1.2 dev board for the Intel E7500 chipset.

2x 2.2GHz P4 HT Prestonia Core Xeons

2x 256MB DDR200 ECC Registered RAM

Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 80GB IDE

Asus 16x DVD-ROM

Gigabyte (Ralink) PCI 802.11G Wi-Fi

I do know one thing, Vista Ultimate screams on this beast, sees the dual procs with hyper threading as a quad core system. I hope if I can get OS X working it will do the same!
