Shinaku
I've been trying to get the ALC260 to work for some time now, The device ID is: 0x10ec0260 Controller ID: 0x26688086 After editing AppleAzailia accordingly my kextstat shows that IOAudioFamily, AppleAzaliaController and IOHDAudioFamily are all loading automatically on boot up, does this mean I got these settings right? Has anyone else managed to get this sound card to work in 10.4.8? If anyone wants them I'll post my kexts. Johnny B Good
I've got the same problem on an Acer Aspire 1640. NOTHING has worked. I hoped that by using 10.4.8 from Jas it would work, but it doesn't... Thats exactly my problem... I have an Aspire 1642LMi (1640 family), tryied everithing but nothing. I installed AppleAzaliaAudio.kext but I just got volume control on Finder, but no sound. Anyway, if I install Vista on this computer, I got the same! Have volume control but no sound if I don't install Acer Sound Driver. Curious... I think this ALC260 is an modified version of the original chip. My Spec: Acer Aspire 1642LMi OS: Dual Boot (Uphuck v1.4i 10.4.9 and Vista Ultimate) Video: Works (GMA900 QE + CI Diabolik) NEED Video Dongle or External Monitor to boot Audio: Volume Control but No Audio (AppleAzaliaAudio) Lan: Works 100% Wifi: Works on Unsecure Networks (iwi2200 Installed) I just need audio working to be a Happy Mac Boy... I'm not sure if it's a modified chip, I've been using generic official RealTek drivers for the card which also support other chipsets such as the 850s. I've got to the point where I don't think this will ever work. candykane
regarding sound just spend 10$ for the Speed Link USB-soundcard. No extra driver at all required. zhouqi55
I saw someone fix the problem - install 10.4.6 first, then update to 10.4.8, I haven't tried that yet, but if someone want give it a go, please write feedback. ;p Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42792-realtek-alc260/#findComment-496320 Share on other sites
