frizbot
I dunno. A forum search for "946-GZIS" gets nothing. Just thought I'd say before someone makes it a criticism. What problems are you having? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42697-mac-on-intel-mobo-946-express-chipset/#findComment-305638 Share on other sites
Ferret-Simpson
Finally, someone who'se read the FOI! Hmm. I've never heard of the 946 - Is it a recent release? If it's an intel chipset that Apple haven't started using yet, Support could be an issue. I think the most prudent question has already been asked. What are the issues? The Maverick
Hi, Apologies for replying late. Intel 946-GZIS is relatively a new motherboard with Intel GMA9000 as the onboard graphics adapter. The problem is -- this is the only motherboard available these days in India still within the budget. The rest of them are far too expensive. I initially had ASUS P5RD2-VM and I was able to install 10.4.5 (Jas) on it without any problems. I had to replace it owing to defective soundcard and ended up buying this one instead as no better ASUS mobo was availabe (P5RD2-VM was no longer available and only ASUS P5PE was available). The problem I am facing is that the Darwin hangs right in the beginning with 10.4.4 just after detecting cpu as dual core. Any help would be greatly appreciated. PS: If I do change my motherboard to a more expensive one (865 chipset), will I be able to install Mac 10.4.4 or 10.4.7 on it. 865 is the only other Intel Mobo available other than 846.
