I have 10.4.8 installed and working perfectly on a p5w dh deluxe motherboard. The only problem I have is that the fans in my computer spin at their max speed in mac. In windows and in linux they adjust their speed depending on how much im using my computer but in mac they all come on and are extremely loud.

You could try playing around with the Q-Fan functions in your BIOS - once you turn Q-FAN on, your fans should throttle down depending on CPU temps. But, like you said, may not work on the Mac, not to mention I heard Q-Fan wasn't working all that well with some BIOS revisions, so depending on what you have...

The other idea is to try using some Mac equivalent of SpeedFan - this looks like it *might* do the job (haven't tried it myself yet):

It's called smcFanControl - it's not SpeedFan of course but might work.
