alvin777
Hi. I've burned the 10.4.8 Intel/AMD JAS successfully to a DVD-RW or DVD+RW but the installation guide says not to use RW, however. The DVD does boot but I'm having second thoughts going beyond the Language screen of the installer, fearing that something might go wrong with using a DVD+RW and by the time I've already partitioned and erased my hardisk (SATA)- along with the iso of this JAS which means another week of downloading. It's too early to go to the mall to buy a non rewritable DVD. However, should I burn the iso again and use a DVD+R or DVD-R or is this good already because it boots to the Language screen of the installer? What's a good brand to buy by the way (except for Taiyo Yuden which I can't find). Thanks. AdamWe
I once burned to a -RW and it worked okay. The thing about RW's is that they're a lot slower Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42536-using-dvd-rw-or-dvdrw/#findComment-304138 Share on other sites
Templeton Peck
Yep, RW's should work perfectly fine. As long as you verified the burn, you've got nothing to worry about.
