Right. I just installed the JaS 10.4.7 release, and the install went well, but it refuses to boot--it simply freezes on the blue background with the Apple logo and the small boot load progress bar.

Has anyone else experienced this before?

Here are my specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (2.4GHz)

ASRock ConRoe 945G-DVI motherboard

2GB Geil PC5300 (667MHz) RAM

250GB Western Digital Caviar SATA-II disk.

Cheers ;)

Hmm, I reinstalled the thing, seems I didn't install the JaS patch.

I'm a bit further now, more specifically in a console. I'm hearing the VoiceOver configuration , but on my screen I'm told this:

Feb 15 12:59:08 kextd[29]:Æ kld_load_from_memory() failed for module /System/Library/Extensions/IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext/Contents/MacOS/ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin

And a few others similar to that:

Feb 15 12:59:09 kextd[39] a link/load error occured for kernel extension /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce.kext

So I have no login window or any type of GUI ;)

Edit 1:

Okay, I removed my GeForce NX7950GT from the computer, and at least it starts now, but I have no decent image. I have a fragmented "Getting started" on the left, and on the right, a grey bar.

Edit 2:

At least it boots in safemode, but that's a serious flaw. I'm updating to 10.4.8 now (with the 8.8.1 kernel), and I really hope this fixes it :D
