Faxe System
Hi, after trying http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=21487 and http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=28559 I have no clue how to get USB 2.0 working. I'm using Jas 10.4.8 Intel AMD SSE2 SSE3. After a clean install everything works accept for USB 2.0. Every USB device is recognised but just in 1.1 (external harddrive, usb stick, Ipod). After trying http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=28559 USB 2.0 seems to be working but no USB 2.0 hardware is recognised but every hardware just working in 1.1 is recognised (Mouse, Webcam). Other users owning an Asus A8V Deluxe seem to have the same problem. So is there a way or are A8V Deluxe Users on their own? Greetings Faxe. MarcMTL
Hey Faxe System, I've been having a similar problem with my Asus board. It's a really simple fix, check out my thread http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=42550. Simply editing one setting in the bios allows full detecton of USB peripherals and USB 2.0 functionality. Hope this works out for you, leave me a post on my thread! Enjoy, Marc Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42420-asus-a8v-deluxe-with-usb-20/#findComment-305508 Share on other sites

If you boot with -v you will most likely see a message "EHCI Controller unable to take control from BIOS". Playing with the enable/disable settings in the BIOS didn't help, as it disabled the KB/Mouse once OSX had booted. What worked for me is the PCGenUSBEHCI-2.6.1a kext from orByte (thanks!) that goes in IOUSBFamily.kext in place of the AppleEHCI kext. ONLY the 2.6.1a version worked for me. I have the 1018.001 BIOS from ASUS, which might make a difference.
