StuckOnArt
I'm a Windows user and i'm really sick of that :pirate2: , so i've decided to install Mac OS X on my computer. I've got only one problem - my computer is not so perfect, as i wish. So i want to make sure that all of my hardware will be supported by Mac OS X. Here's my useless junk: Intel® Celeron® CPU 2.40 Ghz Realtec AC'97 Audio Samsung SP0411N (40 gb) Intel® 82845 G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller SCSI & RAID controllers (I even don't know what's that) - A347SCSI SCSI Controller IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers (same story) - Intel® 82801DB Ultra ATA Controller SONY DVD RW DW-Q28A ASUS P4GE-MX Motherboard Help me please, because i'm really exhausted with Windows. Thanks in advance. Edited February 14, 2007 by StuckOnArt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42379-mac-os-x-1046/ Share on other sites

DanS
StuckOnArt, I checked the wiki website and didn't see any compatable motherboards listed with the 845 Intel chipset. That doesn't mean that your MB won't work, just try it. If it doesn't work, drop me an email. I have a used Asrock P4Dual-915GL that I just pulled from my Hackintosh that is the same size as your Asus and you could just transfer all of your components to. I installed all of the versions of Intel OS X from 10.4.1 to 10.4.8 on it. This MB is listed on some websites as nearly identical to the original that Apple was giving to developers. Good Luck. StuckOnArt
DanS, Thanks for the help, but i don't think that postal service will deliver your MB to Ukraine. I've found my MB on wiki in components supported in 10.4.3 P4GE-MXAsus Using OSX 10.4.3 8F1111A Patched with Jas v4.2b,installed native from DVD..,ATI RADEON 9000 AGP. Have patched up to 10.4.4 but lose sound...need to find right files for sound stuff on 10.4.4, Celeron 2.8G SSE2 processor..UPDATE:10.4.5 installed native and is working fine.. Seems fine, more testing needed Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42379-mac-os-x-1046/#findComment-303106 Share on other sites
track09
You may need a sound kext. Also, with the integrated graphics, in any build besides 10.4.1 (yuck), you won't get QE/OGL. You won't ever see CI, due to limitations of the 845 in general. Unfortunately for 845 users, no one recompiled the kext for the new driver subsystem in 10.4.3. Before I got my GMA 950 system, I was told that recompiling the kext was impossilble. May want to get yourself a cheap ATI AGP Card.
