mrsleepy
Hi there, I recently purchased a Broadcom 4311 mini pci express card to install in my laptop as this card was supposed to be fully compatable with osx86. Well - I kind of have it working after replacing some kext's - but - no matter how much I try I cannot get it to connect to my router. System Profiler detects the card as: Airport Extreme (0x14E4, 0x89) the wireless card locate is "USA" which is worrying me, as I am in the UK... I have tried channel 5, 11 and 10 on my router - cannot connect to any. Also I have tried with WEP, WPA and without any security at all. Anyone offer any help pls?? :-) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42353-broadcom-mini-pci-express-wifi-cannot-join-network/ Share on other sites
mrsleepy
Anyone please? I was lead to believe this card would work out of the box as a replacement for my Intel 3945 - is the issue to do with the hardware region (locale) being set to USA? Or are there other limitations, settings I need to have on the Router? mrsleepy
FYI: This is the router I am trying to connect to. It says it works under MacOS so I assume its compatable with OSX? Safecom: SWAMRU-54108 Also - Been reading somewhere that just ebcause the driver is loaded it does not mean the card will connect to an AP...because the card has no firmware or something? Could this be the issue?
