ninjastance
anyone know how to fix this? my monitor is able to do 75hz, it is a LG1710B 17" LCD, mac resolution of 1280x1024. i cant go passed 60hz in the properties, is there a way to force osx to let me use 1280x1024 @ 75hz refresh rate? this 60hz refresh rate is killing me! my specs are in my signature. any help is appreciated. joe75
Is your JaS install new kernel and are you using Titan? Did you try editing the boot plist with @75? Did you try booting with "Graphics Mode"="1280x1024x32@75" ?? joe75
Natit and Titan should detect your display and you should have your max res and refresh rate. At boot hold F8, at prompt type: "Graphics Mode"="1280x1024x32@75" In /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist add the line : Graphics Mode 1280x1024x32@75 You could try out NVidiaEFI from MacVidia which should also detect your display http://www.macvidia.com/index.php?option=c...f&Itemid=73 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42323-nvidia-fx5500-agp-1280x1024-stuck-at-60hz-refresh/#findComment-302501 Share on other sites
ninjastance
yeah, it detects everything properly.. it just doesnt do 75hz. 1024x768 does 85hz, 1280x1024 only has an option for 60hz unfortunately. i will give what you said a try, if it doesnt work, i guess im stuck a 60. thanks for the feedback! joe75
While your at MacVidia, check DisplayUtility. It is early in development but is what will be a display checker in the future, it may help, you have to test. Try the boot command and edit your boot plist, good luck http://www.macvidia.com/index.php?option=c...mp;topic=1024.0 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42323-nvidia-fx5500-agp-1280x1024-stuck-at-60hz-refresh/#findComment-302519 Share on other sites

enoree
I installed the JaS10.4.8..amd.intel SSE2 SSE3.ppf which is the latest version I believe and my FX5500 does both LCD displays with 75Hz with no problems, the only thing not enabled is the Quartz Extreme. enoree
I had the same problems with CI/QE UNTIL I went in to my CMOS settings at boot and set my AGP aperture to 128MB and BINGO!! upon reboot I had everything working flawlessly, try it.
