dragon2309
Hi, I\'m sure you get this hundreds of times every day, so I\'ll keep it short and sweet. I downloaded Mac OSx86 and burnt it to DVD, booted up with it and came to the grey-ish apple screen with the logo in the center and also a little animation below that indicating it was doing something. After about 2 minutes of just that a little error/warning image just above the apple logo. And that\'s where it stays, like that forever, it never moves, so I\'m now hoping that you brainy people can help me out. Current specs: Intel P4 2.8Ghz (running @ 3.5Ghz [supports SSE2 and SSE3]) Abit SG-72 Motherboard (SKT478 / SiS 661FX chipset) 1.5Gb RAM (OCZ 1Gb + Kingston 512Mb both @ DDR400) nVidia FX5200 128Mb (AGP 8x) Seagate 120Gb WD Caviar 80Gb Netgear WG311T wireless network card That\'s the main things anyway... Please help, im a bit stuck and don\'t know what to do... Cheers in advance, Dave *EDIT* - Oh forgot to mention, i downloaded version 10.4.4 if it makes any difference. Cheers Edited February 13, 2007 by dragon2309 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42292-sort-of-stuck-help/ Share on other sites
Guest Ramm
What symbol is it? Is it like a "dead mac" picture? Try booting in safe mode [-x] and see if that helps. Guest Ramm
Hmmm. I have never seen that before. Maybe it means something isn't allowed access or something? Yes, try in safe mode [-x] and in verbose mode too, to see the output [-v]. sej111
I've been trying to solve the same problem. One thing I've learned is the 265 Intel chipset doesn't work with the existing installers. The ASUS P5N-E SLI mobo is also a nogo. This may change with the new installers, but for now, newer machines aren't supported by older installers. dragon2309
ok, im back.... i tried in safemode, the same thing happened, i then tried in -v mode as it said to when i hit F8 and i could actually see what it was doing. it wnet through a lot of things and finally stopped here and just kept repeating that last line over and over again every 2-3 mins... On a few lines above that there was also something that repeated about 3 times, it said "Found a transaction which hasnt moved in 5 seconds on bus 3, timed out." Any ideas... from that image there it seems like it cant find my harddrives... the primary is the Seagate 120Gb, any known bugs with seagate drives? cheers, dave *EDIT* - I've been trying to solve the same problem.
