AcuraTSX2245
Hello, Whenever I am trying to install os X I cannot read any of the text in the install box. It is very fuzy and gray. I think it's asking me what hard drive I want to install it on, but there is nothing to choose from. Is there anything I can do to fix this? AcuraTSX2245
I am using: Pentium 4 3.4Ghz Intel D915PBL Mobo 1GB Corsair Ram 250GB Western Digital Hard Drive I fixed the video problem I was referring to, my monitor adaptor had actually just gotten wiggled loose. I tried to install the os x but after doing some more reading I am pretty sure that I didn't install it correctly. I currently have Windows XP Media Center Edition installed on my machine, and I want to dual boot between them. So I have the drive setup in two partitions. After doing more reading I have been seeing people saying that they have patched their version of os x86 to their pc's specs. What exactly does this mean? Because last time I just tried to load from a disc and everything installed properly, but then the osx wouldn't boot after the restart. What is the best way for me to do exactly what I am trying to do? The Baron
You need to find out what instructions your processor has (use cpu-z). Then you'll need a special version of OS X from a file share site (key words JaS, 10.4.8, SSE2, SSE3) Install, making sure you choose the right 'extras' from the DVD (loads of info on here), just get your Proc right for starters - you can go back and sort yr video & sound out later. Patching refers to all the different ways of getting individual components function correctly(ish) - depends on your exact setup. AcuraTSX2245
After partitioning part of my hard drive to run the osx86 my windows would not boot, so i went back and formatted my hard drive to try and reinstall windows and now my windows setup wont recognize the hard drive. I have tried partitionmagic and fdisk both dont help. What should i do? The Baron
Get the Ultimate Boot CD. It's an essential tool, and will sort your hard drive out no problem. (You'll need to change the file-system and make bootable) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42246-installation-problem/#findComment-302649 Share on other sites
