groggyboy
I'm trying to get a triple-boot setup running on my Dell Inspiron 6000. I've got Windows XP and Ubuntu Linux already running, and I'm trying to add OSX86 (using JaS's 10.4.8 DVD). I'm using the paperclip trick to get the installer to boot. I followed the advice on someone's blog and used gParted liveCD to format my MacOS X partition to FAT32. Then, from the installer I used Disk Utility to reformat it to hfs+. But the installer does not recognize the reformated partition. I've tried formatting the partition to ext3 and to an unformatted partition via gParted. None of them play nicely with the Mac Disk Utility. I poked around a bit in Disk Utility, and I'm wondering if the problem is that Disk Utility / the installer is having problems mounting my hard drive. I've tried googling around for a solution. No luck. Can anyone help. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42156-the-installer-does-not-recognize-the-hfs-partition/ Share on other sites
