DanS
If the 10.4.8 update you are refering to as the COMBO is the CD version that is installed while in 10.4.7, you will be left with kernel 8.4.1; only the last DVD that JaS created for 10.4.8 will give you kernel 8.8.1. I tried the manual 8.8.1 kernel update on my Hachintosh and messed up my old 10.4.8 installation. I had to download and use the latest DVD JaS 10.4.8 disk with the lates ppf update to get it working. I now have the 8.8.1 kernel, but no HDA audio. Will try to manually install the Realtek HDA 888 drivers later. If you do not need the 8.8.1 kernel for your drivers to work, the CD 10.4.8 update version with 8.4.1 works very well.
