nuskool1200
Hasn't arrived yet... but should be tight. I think the thing is even solid white. Sweet. Basically I plan on setting this up with Both Dual Boot and a Parralells installation. A native install for those times where I just-need-to-be in XP, and everything else using Coherence and WindowBlinds for a seamless look. The specs I have are: (2 GB DDR-SDRAM (DDR2-667, 1 GBx2,NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7200 (2GHz) *I know that really doesn't say much at all as far as specific hardware, but I dont' have the machine infront of me to really rattle off what's under the hood. *shrug* A few questions... 1. Has anyone else sucessfully installed OS X86 on a Sony VAIO® VGN-FE series notebook? If so what was your experience. 2. I realize i'm probably going to have tons of hardware/driver issues if I get OS X installed on this machine... do I just look for Mac drivers online? Or how would I begin to go about fixing that? 3. By day I'm a web developer for a local firm, but i'm a PC guy. What does this switch mean to me? Will I want to kill myself running CS2? 4. By night i'm an audio junkie. Ableton Live, Cubase SX, VST's galore, External USB/Firewire Audio Interfaces & Controllers. Will I have a problem in Parallels? I know that the current version doesn't help much with the USB/Firewire, but the new release candidate does... 5. Any other issues I might run into? Thanks a bunch... i'll keep searching/browsing to see if I can't find more answers. MenZa
Let's take them one by one 1. Hmm, not according to this. Try comparing some of the hardware to the of the Sony laptops. 2. Nope, look around on this forum, namely in the drivers section. 3. Well, CS2 will more or less work the same. I doubt it'll feel much different (I'm yet to try it myself). 4. Absolutely no idea. 5. I haven't installed it yet, so I can't say Hope that helps Edited February 12, 2007 by MenZa Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42036-so-i-bought-a-new-sony-vaio/#findComment-300699 Share on other sites
