Thade
Yo. I just installed Jas 10.4.8 on my HP DV9220US: 17" Core2 Duo 1.6, 2 GB RAM, GeForce 7600, Dual 80GB HD... I installed only intel stuff & natit and after some post installation tweaking everything works great except intel wireless (unsupported ATM)...Belkin USB wireless working great, sound, QE, CI, BOTH cores all working. The only prob is the fan activity & heat. The fan runs at a constant speed and core duo temp reports 61-63 degrees idle and I'm inclined to believe it based on the exhaust heat. Idle temps in Windows are about 20 degrees cooler and fan is much quieter. Is there a fix for this? TIA hmmm just did a bios update that adds ability to enable or disable the "Intel CPU C4" function in bios. I'm not sure which setting is better BUT either setting gives me idle temps of about 47C which I can totally live with Edited February 12, 2007 by Thade Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42026-core2-duo-laptop-fans-heat-throttling/ Share on other sites
