Hi!

I´m quite new here, but i hope someone can help me...

I´ve got an Asus P4P800-VM with a P4 2,66, 768MB DDR Ram and one 40GB Hitachi/IBM Harddisk.

When I try to install 10.4.7, the message "...unable to find driver for this platform : "ACPI"" appears, and the task stops.

I have had the same errormessage as i Tries to install the 10.4.6, at the same PC.

please help me!

Hello,

I also have an Asus P4P800-VM motherboard and have never had this kind of warning/error - 10.4.6, 10.4.7 and 10.4.8 all installed fine.

I do not have an internal Dvd drive, so I boot on my external USB drive - this may be one of the reasons why it works here and not on your PC. Otherwise, try to use use the default BIOS parameters and see if it changes anything.

try playing around with other acpi settings in your BIOS if this doesn't work then start switching off devices one by one to see

if this helps ... e.g. try to start with minimum config and then start enabling one device at a time to see what is causing the prob.

i remember i had problem installing 10.4.7 and 10.4.8 on a asrock p4p800 like motherboard 10.4.6 did the trick for me but i would

give a try on 10.4.8 with the patch called "775DualVstaPPF" and actually has the VIAATA driver in the installation DVD.

Thanks for your help!

This morning, I´ve tried to install OSX on an other system, but i got the same error message. So i think the iso is not ok. I will try it with another version of osx an tell you later about my experiences... :(

Ok, i´m one step closer to OSX...

I can boot now from the DVD and the installation process starts without any problems. The installation itself is also totaly ok!

BUT after the restart of the PC, osx does not start! :pirate2: "USB caused wake event (EHCI)"

I have the same MOBO, same processor and I didnt have any problems whatsoever. I've Installed 4.6, 4.7, 4.8 without any troubles.

you could try to,

disconnect any USB device you have,

disable USB2 support from the MOBO bios,

or press F8 while booting OSX and then type "-x -v [ENTER]" at prompt (try this first). The '-x' flag stands for safe mode, the '-v' for vervose....
