I installed osx 10.4.8 need some guidance?

After a week of reading and testing I finally managed to install JAS 10.4.8 AMD Intel SSE2 SSE3 Beta2,under customized I only selected intel kext choice.So I'm on the desktop,how do I go to check what drivers I'm missing,like in XP control panel.I noticed I cannot log on the internet through my DSL,it's asking to input certain things,windows did it automatically but am willing to learn.Also it shows 1024/768 display how do I do the 1280 by 1024?The picture in this thing is awesome even at the lower display.Is there a tutorial that can discribe all this or some bebevolent soul that could take the time?Thanks fellas.
