I need an application to create a bootable copy of my OS X partition and store it in a file. I tried using Carbon Copy Cloner, but it says I don't have any other partitions mounted apart from the bootable one. I have three partitions:

1. OS X - HFS+

2. WINXP - FAT32

3. Files - FAT32 (this one is actually in a different hd)

So, I would like to store a full backup of partition number 1 in partition number 3.

Is that possible? How do I restore it if my system suddenly doesn't boot?

Thanks!!

Fede

EDIT:I'm about to create a backup of my bootable partition using SuperDuper. I intend to store it in the third partition in an image file.

The thing is... suppose my system suddenly breaks. How do I restore it from that image?

Well, I had to transform my partitions into NTFS because of the filesize limit (I thought that limit wasn't a problem anymore) and install MacFuse to access them.

I created a full backup using SuperDuper! and appearently everything went fine. I haven't tried restoring it yet because everything is working OK and I don't want to wreck it, but when I have to I suppose I will use Disk Utility from the Install DVD to restore the image. Hope it works... it should.

Good luck!
