Okay, I've been trying for a while now to get osx86 working on my DELL E1705 labtop and i've had many problems.

I have tried to install many times so I think in order for you to understand my problem i'll recap what i've done.

1. The first time i tried to install osx86 i used the 10.4.7 JAS image. I created a partition named "MAC DRIVE' and everything went well BUT ALAS I mistakeningly installed all of the options ( i didnt press 'customize'--yeah stupid me).

2. So i went back to XP and deleted the partition and recreated it. But when i went back to install OSX86 using the JAS DVD the 'MAC DRIVE' was still there even though i had deleted and remade the partiton in windows (whats even creepier is that the MAC DRIVE was still full--only 2GB was free)

3. I decided to empty the "MAC DRIVE" and reinstall. Everything worked fine and this time i used the customize option. I managed to finish the installation and OSX WAS working.

4. next time i restart the computer i get the message 'NO OPERATING SYSTEM FOUND' while trying to boot from my osx86 partition.

5. I try to reinstall but due to Murphy's law my JAS DVD stops working (i think it got scratched)

6. I downloaded the new 10.4.8 image and applied the patch and burned at 2x using IMGBURN

7. NOW, when i boot off my new 10.4.8 JAS DVD (right at the beginning with all the white text and black background) i get error messages--something about AIRPRT--but my DVD still boots.

8. BUT the obdominable 'MAC DRIVE' is still there (and is still full even though i've deleted it)

9. I decide to erase it AGAIN using the Disk Utility and i reinstall using appropriate patches. BUT when i reboot i still get the 'no operating sytem' error.

I think that all my problems stem from this MAC DRIVE refusing to be deleted. What should I do to get rid of it?

I am really aggravated because it should be a straightforward process but Im apparently the most unlucky person in the world. Can anybody please help me?

THANKS in advance!

Use chain0 to boot Mac from the Windows launcher. I love it, I don't touch my BIOS and let it load my C drive... which gets me to a prompt. For most convinence, use "Quiet Mode" in your boot.plist file (or whatever it's called  ) and Mac OS is just a quick down arrow, enter button away

I used the above guide, works perfectly.
