Embio
hey, I'm trying to edit this .mpkg as per the instructions below, in order to get 9A343 onto my G3. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=25942 I'm pretty sure I followed everything up to opening OSInstall.mpkg in order to edit it. Instead I get an error saying 'Open Failed, Couldn't open "OSInstall.mpkg". I've tried using installer, Pacifist and the Terminal, as root. I was about to install Jaguar on another partition to see if it ignored any kind of lock or encryption on the file. any ideas? asap18
I think on the new Leopard builds that technique is obsolete, the new ones use a xom or something packaging that is different than the mpkg versions of earlier builds. Guest bikedude880
The new builds compress the packages into "flat" files using the xar utility. There is a nice little app in the Leopard Developer tools that will allow you to replace the file that you want quite easily... P.S. Please don't PM me about this as I will not answer your question.
