spicedHam
Well I finally have a fully functional hackintosh, but it wasn't easy. I spent many long hours trying to fix my ethernet problem. In my original problem, everything in my system would indicate that both of my ethernet cards (nForce 4 & Yukon 88E8053) were functional but I could not get an ip address from the DHCP server. If I manually choose an address, I could access the router setup, but nothing else (Internet, LAN). I had no problems with the cards in Windows so I didn't think there could be anything wrong with the router, but I was wrong. I reset my DSL modem and enabled the DHCP server on it and connected to it directly. Instantly I had an ip address and Internet access. To test that it was not just a fluke with the Linksys router, I reset it and connected to it. I had the same problem. So for any of you out there having trouble with your ethernet, you might try a different (non-linksys) router. The model of mine is WRT54G. Now for some bragging: Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe 2GB Corsair XMS PC3200 ASUS Radeon EAX1950XTX 512MB (thanks for the help jccool) 80 GB HD 100 GB HD 2X 320GB SATA 300 HDs (not connected yet, hopefully no probs) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41640-possible-cause-of-some-ethernet-problems/ Share on other sites
