So my friend thought it would be funny to have me locked out of my own macbook, it's not, really. i can log on, use my programs and stuff like that, but i can't install anything because i can't login to my admin account. and on top of that he doesn't even know the password. (he is ugh... dumb lol i guess he's getting back at me for the time i changed and locked his cell phone into spanish...)

anyways all the important files are backed up and not even on the macbook.

so my question is, if i have the osx dvd can i jus write over the old OS? or will i still be locked out? like how do i "format" the hard drive? personally i'm on the pc mainly, this macbook is for school projects, movie editing.

10.4.4(i think it might be actually .2), and my (dvd) version is 10.4.4

Just put the DVD in, let it boot and follow he directions. When it comes to where to install, you will see you hard drive with a green arrow on it. I would go up to the top and go into Disk Utility and you can erase the drive to make sure you are getting a fresh install. After you are done in Disk Utility, close it, choose you hard drive, then continue on, select what you want to install or just do the default and when it starts copying walk away (I would have it plugged up for all this). Then when it is done, fresh install.

Second part, take you friend, duck tape his mouth, kick in the nuts with a steel toe boot, then tie meat to him and drop him off in a dog pound. heh

thx for all the help. i'm going with the fresh install... oh and i'll consider taping his mouth and kicking him lol...

then again my friend jus got this new airsoft sniper rifle soo... lol thx for all the help again

ok so i don't know what's wrong but when i boot (holding down alt) the lock picture pops up and a password text box shows up... and the disk is in the drive. what do i do? another disk?

i don't get what i have to do now... i think i'm completely locked out. i can log in as a user but not as admin...

it's basically like the school system, and my friend (i swear he's laughing at me right now) went on vacation... lil punk anywho... what should i do?

nvm i had the ppc version of 10.4... ugh i have no idea where my version is and i'm locked out of single user mode (alt before apple dealie) and what not... lame...

hmm i think i have 10.4.7 somewhere that came with the macbook... damnit i forgot where i put it.
