ghsu3d
hey all few issues first and formost i read that hyperthreading does improve preformance in OSX, i have a 2 dual xeon 3.0 533fsb cpu's, they used to show as 4 cpus on 10.4.6 but once i upgraded to 10.4.8 they show as 2 cpu's only does that mean hyperthreading isnt working in osx??? is there anyway to fix that? second of all i have a highpoint rocketraid 2240 card i installed the osx drivers i got from highpoint but nothing happened, after some further digging up it says that drivers arent installed but i reinstalled the drivers sevral times? any clue on whats going on with that? i also have onboard scsi, anyone know of anyway to get that to show? any extensions laying around for that? its the "Adaptec AIC-7902 Dual-Channel Ultra320 SCSI" and finally once in a while i would get a wired graphics error where the computer will hang up for a few seconds and then the graphics will begin to go all screwy, littrly elements of the desktop will currupt, like i had a bad monitor or somthing but its sepsific to desktop elements, dashboard, dock etc this is only an issue with osx everything works fine on my windows partition any help would be appricated thanks in advance
Guest IanP
I remember reading somewhere that double Xeons have a recognizability error with OS X. However, I cannot help you with the SCSI. Check around for other double dual core xeon users.
seaDonkey
Are you using the kernal flag: platform=X86PC in your com.apple.Boot.plist? I believe that this will disable hyper threading.
