bardz
Hey everyone, i am a windows user i use windows XP, im not even gonna try vista from what ive read and i am really fed up with windows atm im re-installing and formatting every 1 or 2 months. Ive tried linux but it doesn't seem to work for me, and ive been giving mac osx alot of thought recently and ive used it at a friends house a few times and id really like to try it out. Since i don't know much about mac or anything related i was wondering my current setup would work with a mac or hackintosh and if not is there anyway i can get it to work cause i really want to get rid of windows forever. tiqo
As far as i can tell..your system is ok for osx. Since you're reinstalling windows every 2 months..just this time try to install osx..and not windows..gehe. Remember that your C partition will be formatted to osx filesystem..so make sure you have backupped all important apps/files which you will need later on. 10.4.7 is ok...10.4.8 can be found with 'google'...its your best friend, remember ? You will need some drivers for your geforce card..but if you browse this forum, you will find a sollution to that aswell. Good luck ! macphreak4evr
you dont need the 10.48 version to get it running, I run 10.4.6 and it works fine on (most) of my pc's the JAS 10.4.6 contained all the items I needed for a base install, I downloaded the other fixes like sound card drivers and wireless stuff from around the net. but this forum is major helpful, I usually read, but decided to sign up when I needed a file. just make sure you choose custom and select only the packages you need (INTEL) for you not AMD, and you should be good to go. its 5x as fast as XP, and 50000% better than Vista Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41549-compatible-system/#findComment-297291 Share on other sites
