OSx86ers
I have a DFE-538TX. I used to change the mac address of my card from Windows and i could do it successfully. After installing 10.4.8, OS X would detect the lan card after copying an older AppleRTL8193Ethernet.kext from 10.4.7 and also detect the changed mac address. I have uninstalled Windows from the machine but i am unable to change the mac address from OS X. I did this: sudo ifconfig en0 ether xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx if won't change. I even changed the slot of the Lan card but no avail. Please help. Also, it will change to the mac address i want but after a very long time without me having to do anything. It changes automatically. How can i change it and change it reliably? I also fiddled with NetworkInterfaces and preferences plist files but it just doesn't work! Freshmaker™
Hiya there. I had the same problem. After running the command seems like it complete successfully, but it only seems... I think that the OS is not recognizing properly the LAN on a lower level... I don't think there is a solution for that so far.
OSx86ers
So is it a problem with the drivers or a problem with the networking stack of OS X 10.4.8 ?
