dude233
sounds like a bad kernel.. try booting off the backup. im not sure what your backup kernel is called. it might be mach_kernel.back or mach_kernel.old just hit f8 on boot and type it in Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41391-jas1048amdintelsse2sse3-kernel-panic-after-install-help/#findComment-296647 Share on other sites

Guest IanP
What packages did you install? Make sure you installed the AMD one, and DID NOT install the 10.4.4 login package. hihat
What packages did you install? Make sure you installed the AMD one, and DID NOT install the 10.4.4 login package. Ianp, thanks for the reply. I installed the AMD SSE3 stuff and not the 10.4.4 login package. Maybe I should have waited until I could find the 'JaS 10.4.8 DVD /w PPFv1 patch' somewheres... Guest IanP
Are you sure your computer is not i686? I notice it says i386 in the log, and if your comp is i686 that could be a problem. hihat
Are you sure your computer is not i686? I notice it says i386 in the log, and if your comp is i686 that could be a problem. Pardon my ignorance, what's an i686? If I do have an i686 which distro should I install? Thanks.
