I've managed to install the Jas 10.4.8 on my 775 Dual Vsta board with the patches that I found on this site and everything is swinging (I thank you all who are blazing the trail for the rest of us), however I have wifi problems like many others. I have a usb Atmel chip based Gigaset adapter and I have been trawling the net for drivers. I've tried several that do not work (following the usual trick of changing the PID and VID) but I found one for a AIN XN2122b card that has 10.4 drivers and is uspossedly compatible with Atmel 505 chips. I tried the following comamnd following installation:

kextload -t /System/Library/Extensions/fastvnetUsb505A.kext and this is what I had in return:

martin-frogs-computer:/Users/martin root# kextload -v /System/Library/Extensions/fastvnetUsb505A.kext

kextload: extension /System/Library/Extensions/fastvnetUsb505A.kext appears to be valid

kextload: loading extension /System/Library/Extensions/fastvnetUsb505A.kext

25com_atmel_fastvnetUsb505A is not compatible with its superclass, 20IOEthernetController superclass changed?

kextload: a link/load error occured for kernel extension /System/Library/Extensions/fastvnetUsb505A.kext

load failed for extension /System/Library/Extensions/fastvnetUsb505A.kext

(run kextload with -t for diagnostic output)

martin-frogs-computer:/Users/martin root# kextload -t /System/Library/Extensions/fastvnetUsb505A.kext

kernel extension /System/Library/Extensions/fastvnetUsb505A.kext has problems:

Validation failures:

{

"Executable file doesn't contain kernel extension code" = true

}

As a total neophyte, can someone explain to me what this all means?

Much appreciate any help proffered.

Cheers
