Welp I've been lurking around for awhile and search has often been my friend (both here and Google), but at the moment, and for awhile now, I'm at my wits end trying to fix this problem.

I'm running the 8.4.1 kernel and 10.4.8, been running smooth for months. Only problems I actually have is that my wirless doesn't work (saw a thread about a possible extension that never came to be, so I'm not worrying about that so much) and I cannot for the life of me get any USB webcam to work. Every single time I plug a cam in, macam, Quicktime, whatever I'm using just never gets any picture. I've plugged it in to different ports, updated my BIOS, changed settings in my BIOS, all to no avail.

Even though the cam is detected in macam, in System Profiler it's just listed as USB Device. Real generic, probably should be more specific like my mouse is (listed by name and all that goodness) right?

Anyways the error I constantly get is

isocComplete: Error: kIOUSBNotSent2Err - Transaction not sent

Over and over.

I'm assuming now it's a USB kext issue, but I don't know enough to know that I'm right. Anyone experienced this before? By the way I'm running on a Inspiron 9300.

(Don't mind me being a bit wordy, it's early/late and i haven't slept. It's my right to ramble. :D;) )

What kind of usb camera is it? Is it supported by macam? Will it work with this driver (http://www.ioxperts.com/devices/supportedvideo.html)?? Please give us all the info so that we can help you better.

Keep in mind that USB Camera support is spotty at best in OS X. Thank god I have my firewire iSight. :-)

It's a Logitech Quickcam Communicate STX and macam says it is supported. I just tried that ioexperts driver, even though it's not listed as supported and it didn't work. macam actually does manage to get the mic part of the webcam semi-working, even though no sound can be heard if you try and record in Quicktime.
