nickman602
Hello to all on these forums, this is my first post. I have found a wealth of knowledge and many amazing contributions here and am glad I found it. I have unfortunately arrived at a road block. Now, I have installed os x on pc before but this is a seperate attempt at installing it on the usb drive...disk1partition2. I currently cannot turn off the internal hard drive in my bios because apparently thats the way sony made the setup. I suppose I could upgrade the bios but I would still need to figure out how to include OS X in the boot manager. Now, I know Vista boot manager is different from the old windows xp. And I suppose if I had the boot.efi from /usr/standalone/i386 directory on the Mac install (since the OS has already been installed, just cant be accessed) I could place it on my C: and it would boot. Does anyone know of any other ways to do this in Vista or trick it to reroute the boot file to point it to disk1part2? Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated... Thanks! kevinosx
WElcome! You're bios wont let you change boot order? mine can allow me to boot from a USB device first and then, cdrom, hd etc. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41287-x86-install-on-usb-partition-with-vista/#findComment-295311 Share on other sites
