blue_misfit
Hey everyone. So I'm using the 10.4.7 JaS image that has selectable AMD / Intel patches on installation. System Specs: Abit NForce4 SLI Motherboard AMD A64 3500+ Venice 2.2 GHz 2x 512MB DDR400 1x 80GB IDE 3x 250GB SATA DVDRW AC97 and Audigy2 First time around I figured I could do the intel install, since my system has SSE3, but the install did not successfully complete. I know there are newer patches / kernels out there that should support my hardware better, so the second time I tried the install, I went with no patches, just the base system no languages, fonts, printers, but I did include the VIA SATA patch (since the descripton for this includes nforce sata). This time install completed, system rebooted, but when I try to load up OSX I eventually get a big O with a strike through it. If I boot single user mode I get the dreaded 'still waiting for root device' error. Finally I disabled all SATA drives (OSX Partition is on the IDE), and installed AMD patches only - no SATA patch this time Also, sometimes when I boot the OSX CD, my USB keyboard does not work. It's about 1/3 of the time. Strange... Okay so that got things at least up and running. I think I'm having evil problems with nvidia drivers - I want to get the new Titan drivers (or whatever the latest and greatest would be for my 7800gt) running at some point, but one thing at a time. I got networking happening (forcedeth kext) System is usable with network (on it right now). So I hear that I need 10.4.8 to run the Titan driver, is that correct? I have the official Apple 10.4.8 (Intel) updater, but I see on this guide: http://paulicat.freeflux.net/ that I need a patched kernel... I read somewhere that IRC is the place to get said patched kernels. Which IRC server / room is a good place to talk about all this fun stuff? One last question (and sorry for this horribly long winded post) I read somewhere that somebody has released a full read/write support filesystem driver for NTFS??? Where could I find such a lovely piece of code? Thanks!!! ~MiSfit Edited February 6, 2007 by blue_misfit Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41279-installed-jas-1047-all-seems-well-now-i-need-to-get-1048-so-that-i-can-run-titan/ Share on other sites

blue_misfit
Thanks so much I got ahold of the new 10.4.8 JaS release that has all the most recent patches and should support Titan properly... It's going to be an eventful night! Thanks again for pointing me to the NTFS driver. That's big news for me! ~MiSfit Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41279-installed-jas-1047-all-seems-well-now-i-need-to-get-1048-so-that-i-can-run-titan/#findComment-295928 Share on other sites
