Cormac Mannion Posted February 5, 2007 Share Posted February 5, 2007 (edited) Hi guys, this is my first attempt installing OS X. I am having some issues. I cannot select a FAT32 partition I have created on the single hard disk that I have (using PartitionMagic) to convert to HFS+. It is not recognized by Disk Utility. The hard disk is a SATA-300 Seagate. Disk Utility shows a 4.4GB Virtual Drive or something - nothing like what I expect from this VMWare virtual machine configuration file: config.version = "8" virtualHW.version = "4" scsi0.present = "TRUE" memsize = "512" MemAllowAutoScaleDown = "FALSE" ide1:0.present = "TRUE" ide1:0.fileName = "E:" ide1:0.deviceType = "cdrom-raw" ide1:0.autodetect = "FALSE" floppy0.fileName = "A:" ethernet0.present = "TRUE" ethernet0.virtualDev="e1000" sound.present = "TRUE" sound.virtualDev = "es1371" sound.fileName = "-1" sound.autodetect = "TRUE" displayName = "Mac OS X" guestOS = "winnt" nvram = "Windows NT.nvram" paevm = "TRUE" scsi0:0.redo = "" ethernet0.addressType = "generated" uuid.location = "56 4d d8 8a e2 67 3e ec-31 79 90 fa 1b 6b 62 6f" uuid.bios = "56 4d d8 8a e2 67 3e ec-31 79 90 fa 1b 6b 62 6f" ethernet0.generatedAddress = "00:0c:29:6b:62:6f" ethernet0.generatedAddressOffset = "0" floppy0.startConnected = "FALSE" tools.remindInstall = "TRUE" scsi0:0.deviceType = "rawDisk" workingDir = "." checkpoint.vmState = "" Here is the pertinent information from the boot process: Type05/IODVDService BSD root: disk0s3, major 14, minor 2 Feb 5 10:10:17 launchd: Bug: launchd.c:1990:17: ioctl( s6, SIOCAIFADDR_IN6, &ifra6) != -1 kern.maxvnodes: 9216 -> 2500 Creating RAM Disk for /Volumes disk1: 1025 sectors in 2 cylinders of 16 tracks, 32 sectors 0.5MB in 1 cyl groups (16 c/g, 4.00MB/g, 128 i/g) super-block backups (for fsck -b # ) at: 32, Creating RAM Disk for /var/tmp Warning: 256 sector(s) in last cylinder unallocated disk2: 256 sectors in 1 cylinders of 16 tracks, 32 sectors 0.1MB in 1 cyl groups (16 c/g, 4.00MB/g, 32 i/g) super-block backups (for fsck -b # ) at: 32, Creating RAM Disk for /var/run Warning: 256 sector(s) in last cylinder unallocated disk3: 256 sectors in 1 cylinders of 16 tracks, 32 sectors 0.1MB in 1 cyl groups (16 c/g, 4.00MB/g, 32 i/g) super-block backups (for fsck -b # ) at: 32, The specs are: Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 Seagate / Barracuda 7200.9 / 160GB / 7200 / 8MB / SATA-300 / OEM / Hard Drive (TSD-160AS4) Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz / 2MB Cache / 1066MHz FSB / Dual-Core / OEM / Socket 775 1GB DDR-2 OCZ RAM / Dual-Channel Interleaved Edited February 6, 2007 by Cormac Mannion Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41261-vmwaredaemontools-install-problem/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
