Hi everyone,

after rebooting my before smoothly running osx86-tubgirl amd sse3 10.4.8 2007-001 gets stuck when it tries to load my desktop. it also shows the kernel messages in a much lower resolution now (like 80x25 chars) instead booting the kernel in 1280*1024. but titan tells me to cross my fingers anyway.. permissions have already been repaired with my installation dvd (no wrong ones at all). any ideas, please?

TIA!

i tried to to boot in single user mode, and i saw that java crashes just before the machine switches to the gui (verbose enabled). can i somehow tell macos to not load java? or is there a step-by-step loading process in which i can decide whether i want to load certain extensions/modules/whatever? could a damaged com.apple.Boot.plist also be the reason? (because i recently changed my wait time at boot from 10 to 2 secs, but everything went fine)?

any help or ideas really appreciated, thanks.

edit: can a false shutdown also be the reason? because my girlfried accidentally used the atx-power-button to switch off my hackintosh -> "broken" sleep? and, please, how can i clear the caches at single user mode? or try anything else in single user mode? thanks!

edit: booting into safe mode (pressing shift during boot) doesn't help..

edit: Archive and Install option doesn't work; the installer tells me that i can't install to my hdd because there's a newer macos version installed.. maybe because of the kernel updates? it's still 10.4.8 though..
