zackint0sh
sounds like an issue w/ loginwindow app, i used to have issues w/ the "about this mac" feature that i fixed w/ a patched loginwindow app. we had different problems, but maybe same solution will work. take the loginwindow.zip prsubway links at http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=39390, backup the existing loginwindow.app in /System/Library/CoreServices, delete it, put the one in the zip in it's place, and reboot. hope it works! if not it shouldn't hurt, but if you wanted to put your existing one back after you try this just boot into single-user mode ("-s" flag), blow away the loginwindow.app i suggested, put your old one back, then restart. Arucardinium
Did you use the JaS install? I had the same problem for a while because I installed the 10.4.4 loginwindow fix that actually broke my loginwindow. I reinstalled without it and had no trouble.
