bigdaddystep
An Appology to all the people that know and understand all of this, the mods, and the true geniouses out there that actually do all the work for this post, I am just trying to help my fellow man and lay somethings out to them. A couple things that I have learned in attempting this process myself. Use Acronis disk director or sometype of partitioning software to setup the drive as a fat32 before you install, then you just format from the disk utility instead of partitioning. Make sure you set it as a primary and NOT a logical. I have found better success this way. During your customized install select as FEW options as possible, just either AMD or the Intel kexts, don't just select everything. This x86 project is not even close to being like windows, if you don't have hardware that windows has drivers for it seldom cares, but this MacOS on x86 cares alot, if you are having blank screens, just hanging at the darwin, or the reset/power button issue try reinstalling with just your processor kexts and the essential package. Know your hardware!!! Boot into windows and find your device id's for the hardware you want to work. If you have the model and device id you can search on those items specifically, you will be amazed how much info is on here. If you have a Radeon x1150, you may find that the x200 or x300 kexts and configurations will work for you to a certain point. Don't get frustrated, if it were easy everyone would do it!!! I would say expect to reinstall 4 or 5 times and get ready to learn how to program and run shell commands. READ,READ, READ, and READ some more if you ask a question with no specifics, don't expect ANY kind of answer, ALWAYS list your hardware, your iso build, what you have tried so far, and post SPECIFIC questions. bigdaddystep
In my readings it seems like the Radeon 9xxx seem to have issue, when you installed did you select any additional drivers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41032-install-pointers-for-one-newbie-to-others/#findComment-293165 Share on other sites
n86i
I installed everything but the AMD stuff and language files asked, just because i don't have an AMD and only speak english. I was thinking i read about some way that you go into a verbose mode???, and can set the screen resolution or something maybe that will help it to stop shutting off the monitor. bigdaddystep
Try this, install only the Intel Kexts and the essentials, uncheck everything else and install. See if you can boot then, if you can start trying to get your driver after that. bigdaddystep
Cool, I think the big problem most people are making is trying to install to many "fixes" and that actually causes problems Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41032-install-pointers-for-one-newbie-to-others/#findComment-293208 Share on other sites
