hey!

i installed it, and everything hardware wise is perfect! no hitches at all! however, i have a bit of a problem with the splash screen.

instead of a friendly apple logo and a spinning thing, i get a verbose mode thing, and i see a bunch of text fly by, then it boots into the os just fine, and everything seems fine!

what can i do to fix this? i'm not afraid of editing system files, just give me careful instructions, and i'll do it! thx!!!

open the file up with texteditor, make ur edit and then save it...and if u cant save it.

Save it to ur desktop as a .txt and then after that right clik on it and go to..idk wat its called but i think its 'Info' or something not sure..ull no wen u see it.

and then there should be a drop down that says name and extension. Change the extension to what it is

(For example-- 'Network.txt' >>change to 'Network.plist') and then wen u get out of it..it should ask if u want to change it to plist or w/e. Then u press yes and then put it back into the same folder..In this case 'library/preferences/systemconfiguration' and wen it asks u 2 replace, u press yes and then put in ur password and then ur done :)

yeah, go to the folder it is in, and unlock it and the contents. then open it w/ text edit and remove it.

i would reccomend leaving it in place, it will let you know of any problems that happen when you boot

other method: copy the file to your desktop. Open it with textedit. make the changes. save.

drag it again to the original folder. The system would ask you your password and to confirm that you want to replace the original file....

the line you have to edit looks like this:

<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>-v</string>

You have to delete the '-v' so it would look like:

<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string></string>

Anyway, as Soundless says above, I would leave it as it is for some time, until you're really sure that everything works propperly. The "-v" would show you if there is any problems while booting....

thats that. good luck!
