Previously I had been trying to run the install via DVD. I was having BomFileError 2 problems at the point, I believe, after some quick investigation that might have saved me a lot of time had I tried it in the first place. After using the From VMWare To Native! guide at the following post...

I found myself, eventually, booted from the ISO through Alcohol 120%, a piece of software that has paid as an investment over and over in terms of trouble-saving. I have a fairly heavy custom install, lots of options... language packs, printer drivers. Just testing at this point, really, and avoiding anything I definitely know I won't use (Intel-based patches, for example, as I don't believe I need them with my Athlon 64 (3000+, in the specific instance where that might actually matter)).

First, the failure occurred at, if I recall correctly, something called AppKit (which seems obvious by name, but I'm not sure how related to the natured of the package this particular mess up is). I tried a second time. Fewer packages this time, but nothing, I think, that was in AppKit. This time the failure occurs on KerberosAutoConfig.plist.

Strange, both BomFileError 5 errors. What's the deal here? I expected this to go away when running through VMWare and a virtual drive. Does this suggest the image is corrupted? If so, why did it seem to fail in two different places?

I'll try another install, but... any suggestions?
