BRiseagainst
Hey Guys, I have tried to install many different version of OSX86 to no avail. I first found out that my SATA controller would not work with current versions so I got an IDE HD to install on. I am not trying to do a dual-boot, just want OSX on my PC by itself. I installed 10.4.4 (booted from DVD) and was able to use Disk Utility to format the drive and then install onto it with no errors. When I finished the install (on all attempts) the computer would not reboot by itself, it said: Processing Completed MACH Reboot and just sat there, so I rebooted manually. Upon rebooting and booting from the drive I just installed to, the system starts, POSTs, and then just sits at a black screen and blinks an underscore at me forever. Nothing happens, no error messages, just a blinking underscore and a black screen. I tried to disable the SATA controller and that didnt do anything. I have also installed using VMware with the same results. It seems like it cant find the boot sector of the HFS filesystem or something, and if I insert the OSX86 install disc but dont hit any key to start the install, I get: System Configuration '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found ( I have read that this error is associated with the install disc trying to boot to the HD, but not sure ) I have tried 10.4.4 and 10.4.8 Jas AMD INTEL SSE2 SSE3 beta2 and get the same problem with either one. Any suggestions? Processor: AMD X2 4600+ Mobo: Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe (socket AM2) HDD: Seagate 400Gb IDE (disk utility will only recognize 137Gb???) Chipset: nForce 570 MCP Videocards: 2 MSI 7900GTs on SLI My hardware should be fully compatable (save SATA) otherwise I wouldnt be able to install, right? Thanks guys, you rock.
