Lazarius
Hi I am under Macosx86 10.4.6 since two months, all was perfect but I have install XCode last week and since, after boot-up, the CPU is 100%usage et there is a constant acces in "write mode" on the HDD. If I check the status Monitor, there is no process with such CPU Usage. Do you have any idea about this problem ? Thanks .Lazarius. macgirl
On first boots it could be SpotLight doing its job (Indexing). Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40776-cpu-usage-at-100-after-boot/#findComment-291508 Share on other sites
Lazarius
I have think that spotlight might be in cause so I have desactivate it, but no change. The CPU is still at 100%usage. Futhermore, I have let the computer run more than 48h, so the indexing must have end since some time. Boooooommm
Do you have the proper ATA kexts? Because otherwise, the system will access in PIO mode whichy uses a LOT of CPU processing power just to read from the hard drive.
