i'm just thinking about it. is it possibe to create a customized version of 10.4.8, say, using a original 10.4.6 Intel-Macmini OSX install dvd.

just dmg the original Macmini OSX and put all the necessary "jas" files into it ?

does it work in this way?

:P

Except you'd have to patch the DVD itself.. i.e. the 'lite' version of OSX that loads so you can install in the first place.. You do want the DVD install to load right?

I imagine it's possible, and I wouldn't be the guy to tell you how, but I'm not sure it would be worth the trouble.

If you download the JaS DVD, you can mount the image read/write and add or replace files that way. How else do you think the DVDs are created. I have a script that takes Mac-only DVDs, removes certain files and them for booting then creates a PC-bootable DVD from it.

check pm please?

I did, I'm just not in a place where I can help much (at school right now.)

as you talked in the post, what i need is to create a image of this jas dvd. then mount it r/w so i can add/replace files in it, am i

right?

That is correct.

so i still need a working osx to do this job?

Yes you do.

btw, your script will work with my Macmini OSX DVD ?

The script should work with that DVD, but it's 10x easier to use an already patched DVD and just add the files onto that.
