ghsu3d Posted January 31, 2007 Share Posted January 31, 2007 hey all just got 10.4.8 fully running on my system for some reason i previously installed the same jas version and it came up as 10.4.7 but had some issues with this new install allmost everything worked off the bat, i dont have audio output which i did in the previous install. i'm using audio off the mb (ac97audio) also sometimes the system randomly freezes up, i can still move the cursour but nothing happens when i click on stuff here is the error i get on start up that are related to the audio problem. system extension cannot be used appleAC97Audio.kext & appleAC97audiointellCH.kext was installed improperly and cannot be used please try reinstall or update thanks in advnace Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40579-no-audio-and-random-freeze-on-1048/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
tiqo Posted January 31, 2007 Share Posted January 31, 2007 As far as the error message you get on startup : Go to applications/disk utility .. select your bootdisc, and repair the permissions. This will prolly solve this problem at the next reboot..and might aswell enable the sound problem. As far as freezing of the system..i have the same problem too..it just happens once in a while, so i dont even bother. relikwie Posted January 31, 2007 Share Posted January 31, 2007 as for the audio message, i have the same issue, but a repair of the permissions didn't help. on my laptop replacing appleAC97Audio.kext and other audio related audio kexts with the from jas 10.4.6 worked.
