Need HELP Getting a ASUS 96J to run 10.4.6

I have been working off of profit42.com's guide and have gotten all the way up to the actual installation. I am using 10.4.6 because from what I have heard, my ASUS Z96J can't run anything higher (tell me if this is wrong).

The main question is about getting it to install at all. I burned JAS 10.4.6 to a DVD-R. And I got a new empty partition to work just like in the guide. When I activate the new partition and try to boot from the OS X DVD so I can install, I get the white screen with the spinny thingy and it stays that way until I turn the computer off. I have tried about 5 times, leaving the white screen on for at least an hour each time and got the same result (nothing). I booted in safe mode (-x), verbose (-v AND -x -v platform=X86PC) and I got a flurry of text and then it stops. After that, every 45 seconds or so it posts this message:

SAM Multimedia: READ or WRITE failed, ASC=0×3e, ASCR=0×02

After it posts this i get a small batch of text talking about the cd failing to initialize and how its trying to do something to the RAM and then it goes back to posting the above message every 45 seconds for another 15 mintues before I get another flurry of text exactly the same as the small one I mentioned a few sentences ago. I took some pictures but I dont have any webspace at the moment that i can use to post the photos of the text. You can email me at Starbucksparatroopers@gmail.com and I will send them to you though.

Any advice?

Thanks

Well, I reburned the DVD and I got it to work HOWEVER, when I tried to boot it after the install completed it froze up. I took a picture of the log when it froze. If anyone can shed some light on some possible solutions I would be very grateful.
