360mods.net
Hardware: Toshiba L35-S2151 Notebook, rarely mentioned anywhere, but it was only $250 at Best Buy on Black Friday Intel Celeron M 420 ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Video Chipset 512 MB RAM 60 GB Hard Drive DVD/CD-RW Situation: I have the 10.4.6 HoTiSO OS X x86 release as well as the 10.4.7 JaS release. Two days ago, when I was not ready to install, I booted up the 10.4.6 disc and it booted fine, I reached the installation, then backed out before I even touched anything. So.. I know this notebook should be able to boot the discs. Problem: One of two things happens (with both discs). I either reach the Apple logo and then my notebook reboots, or I never reach the Apple logo at all, and my notebook reboots. What's weird is I was able to boot completely into the 10.4.6 disc just fine the other day. I have nothing plugged into any card slots or USB slots, it is just power and battery, that's it. I even have my internal WLan disabled. I have also disabled USB legacy support in my BIOS, hoping that would help - no luck. Terminal Output when booting with parameter -v Loading Darwin/x86 Loading kernel mach_kernel Loading HFS+ file: [mach_kernel] from 4230450. Loading HFS+ file: [mach_kernel] from 4230450. 360mods.net
Hope it isn't too early to bump this, it's already on page 3 with zero replies. I'd really like to get this installed. 360mods.net
Tried installing through VMWare, got this error. Only reason why I'm posting is for in the future if somebody else gets it. I guess none of you can help me, and I guess I can't install OS X. Would have been nice to get some kind of reply though, instead of just talking to myself this entire time. fustyler
I haven't tried the VMWARE bit but I have the exact same problem as you. It reboots itself as soon as it reaches the white screen with mac logo. Need help from some gurus out there! Hope it isn't too early to bump this, it's already on page 3 with zero replies. I'd really like to get this installed.
