DominoTree Posted January 29, 2007 Share Posted January 29, 2007 My system booted the dvd (JAS 10.4.8 Final SSE2/SSE3), installed everything without any problems. I also tried booting in verbose and everything seems fine! After the installation is done, it reboots and if the computer starts with the DVD in… it says: “system config file ‘/com.apple.boot.plist’ not found” and it stops. If I reboot without the DVD in, I get a little cursor blinking on the top left and nothing happens! I can’t even press F8 anywhere. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I've searched before posting but I was not able to find anything. GiM Posted February 2, 2007 Share Posted February 2, 2007 Your partition setup is screwed up. There is a new JaS patch out to fix this. They say the problem is in the new Disk Utility in 10.4.8. If you have an old DVD (say 10.4.7) you can use that to boot up and partition/format the drive. Then reboot with the new JaS disk and install the OS. Also, you can also try to install with the 10.4.8 but partition the drive and then format the partitions in Disk Utility, don't just format the whole drive. Some people have had success with that as well.
