Brandon-G
Well I installed the JaS 10.4.7 and had a bunch of problems. Using the 10.4.8 update along with the patch on these forums, I got everyhting to boot normally. A few things I notice - My battery life now really, sucks - like 1.5 hours when before with 10.4.3 I was getting around 2.5 hours. Also No matter what kext I change, I cannot get my audio back (Realtek ACL862). iTunes also wont even play music (not sure if this is related to the sound though) Sleep doesnt work - It seems to suspend the HD, but won't wake (and the system+fan still remains on) It went to sleep (Normal S3) in 10.4.3 Where is it that i change the bus to "bus=133" Hoping to get this resloved quickly as I just ordered the Dell 1390 off eBay for $16.14 Toshiba M115-S3094 Dore Duo T2050 1.6GHz 80GB SATA (25GB OSX Partition) 1GB DDR2 GMA950 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40378-some-small-issues-after-installed/ Share on other sites
thestevo
Ok, first things first. Update your kernel to Beta9. There is a link to Prasys script in my sig, and its easy to find on the forum. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with anything else yet, but try that and then come back with what you still got and we'll look at it. I do know that moving to beta9 will take care of that "bus=133" worry you have. Ive tried this You have to edit: Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>fsb=133</string> <------add or change.. saved it, then rebooted and then nothing changed in the system profile. FSB=200 still there. Also Adding the correct thing for my sound did not work either Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40378-some-small-issues-after-installed/#findComment-289090 Share on other sites
thestevo
The new kernel auto-detects your FSB. You shouldn't need that in the boot.plist, though I don't know that it specifically hinders anything. Sorry about your sound, I can't help you too much there. I don't have any ALC862 hardware. Keep checking the forums, you might find your solution.
