joki
Very sorry for my poor english, All these words was translated by myself with dictionary! 1.I have some problem to install the image with tubgirl's OSX_AMD_Final 10.4.8 It is working perfectly when i fist boot up.Recognize my video card msi geforce 6600 full with QE/CI.But when i reboot it,the system crashed.Enter a very low resolution blue screen, seems like 640*480 with a big mouse pointer, and then the screen became black soon,show".....loginwindowcrash.........loginwindow.crash.log...............SecurityA en t.crash.log",loops between them in the end. 2.I reinstall the system again without the NV40 Drivers,It is working and reboot is no problem,so i think the titan was crashed in my system. 3.Download the Natit_Uni_1.0.pkg and install it,but the system crashed again when i reboot it. What should i do? log.zip Edited February 2, 2007 by joki Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40308-helptitan-was-crashed/ Share on other sites

joe75
You need to edit in your dev id only and get rid of the rest. 0x????10de Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40308-helptitan-was-crashed/#findComment-288925 Share on other sites
cljtam
You need to edit in your dev id only and get rid of the rest. 0x????10de So you mean if I have a FX6200A AGP: Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0221 Then I should just edit the NVDAResman.Kext , NV40HAL.kext..........to include: 0x02210de However, how about the Geforce.Kext ? I have not edited it, and it causes crash on my OSX when I reboot and I can not go back to OSX. Sorry, I am a newbabe....I used the installer come with the Jas 104.8.1 SSE3 SSE2 DVD....so it should have the Titan.Kext installed. I have not touched it at all..... And actually, do I just need to leave all of the NVDAResman.Kext , NV40HAL.kext, GeForce.Kext untouch? (But I think it hangs my OSX as well).....or do I need to delete NVDAResman.Kext , NV40HAL.kext, NV30HAL.Kext, NV20HAL.Kext and NV10HAL.Kext ? (Cos if I do this, it allow me to boot to OSX, but of course no QE/CI) Many thanks in advance, Joe. joe75
So you mean if I have a FX6200A AGP I mean, edit your dev id (0x022110de) into NVDAResman.Kext, NV40HAL.kext and Geforce.Kext, remove any other ids. The JaS install you used most likely is using Natit which has multiple ids and auto detects your card. If you don't plan on using dual monitors, I would suggest you remove Natit kext and only use Titan. cljtam
I mean, edit your dev id (0x022110de) into NVDAResman.Kext, NV40HAL.kext and Geforce.Kext, remove any other ids. The JaS install you used most likely is using Natit which has multiple ids and auto detects your card. If you don't plan on using dual monitors, I would suggest you remove Natit kext and only use Titan. Thanks Joe. So, at the end, I should remove all NV* .kext from Extensions folder? With just Titan.kext and GeForce.kext, it will work? I tried the following, but still with either Kernel Panic or No QE/CI. 1. Remove Titan. Use Natit Univeral Installer, remove all IDs but just added 0x022110de into the NVDAResman.kext and NVDAN40Hal.Kext and also GeForce.Kext. ---> this give me a complete Black Screen. 2. Use Titan. With added 0x022110de into the NVDAResman.kext and NVDAN40Hal.Kext and also GeForce.Kext. ----> this give me a Kernel Panic. 3. Just use Titan. (i.e. No NVDAResman.kext and NVDAN40Hal.Kext) and Geforce.Kext added 0x022110de. -----> this boot ok. When boot, Titan say' loaded and finger cross'. But I do not have QE/CI. 4. use Titan. (i.e. No NVDAResman.kext and NVDAN40Hal.Kext), AGPKart and Geforce.Kext added 0x022110de. ------> Same as #3, also boot ok, the device also successfully identified as AGP. But then also no QE/CI. So it seems to me that, whenever I edited the "NVDAResman.kext and NVDAN40Hal.Kext" by added 0x022110de......, I got Kernel Panic. I am not sure if this is because of my way of editing the Info.plist inside the Kext. The way I do it is: 1. Copy and paste the relevant Kext from Extension folder to Desktop. 2. Open Package Content 3. Locate the Info.plist and then open with 'Text Editor'. Added the 0x022110de (Also remove all other ids.) 4. Save. 5. Drag the modified Kext back to Extensions Folder. 6. Authenticate and replace the original Kext. 7. Remove the Extensions.Kcache....files (the two cache files) 8. Use Disk Utility to Repair Permission. 9. Reboot. Should I use 'nano' or 'vi' to edit the kext instead and also chmod / chown in the Terminal , then follow by using Repair Permission instead? Sorry Joe and to all, I have been trying hard to get this work. (I think my 6200 card should!)...but without success. ....I dealt with this for full 2 nights already.... Would highly appreciate if Joe / any expert could kindly point me to the right direction. Many thanks in advance. joe75
http://www.mediafire.com/?amtmwqztiqz I tried to explain pretty clearly what to do. Get the file in the link. Remove Natit kext to trash. Edit you dev id into the kexts that I mentioned on your desktop. Add all the files to Extensions, replacing you existing kexts. Open terminal and type sudo chown and chmod on Extensions/*. Reboot and enjoy resolution change with QE and CI. There is a read me in the file that will that will tell you what to do. If you have problems with AGPGart, try booting with -f flag at boot prompt.
