Hello all. I'll be picking up a Macbook Pro soon and just have one question about bootcamp.

Am I able to share files between OSX and XP or would I have to make a copy of the file for both OSes? Example: I have music and would like to be able to listen to them in both OSX or XP. Do I need to keep a copy of the song in both OSes or can I have it so that I have one copy of the song on the hard drive and then share it between the two OSes?

Hope my question makes sense.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can share files needed such as music, word files, and other things that can be used by both operating systems. Now with Macfuse in Mac and Macdrive in windows you can write to each drive from either operating system. On the desktop there will be 2 hard drives, one for mac and one for windows and from there you can access all the files you want on each operating system. To see the files on the mac side and write to them you need Macdrive in windows. To see the files on your windows partition in mac you dont need anything but to be able to write to that partition you will need macfuse. Hope this helps. i think i made it more complicated that it needed to be. :)

So right from the get go, I can view files on both OSes no matter what OS I'm in, but if I want to write files to XP while I'm in OSX I will need Macfuse and to write to OSX while I'm in XP I'll need Macdrive? Where can I get these programs?

Oh man, I'm getting so excited about picking up a Mac now!
