10.4.5 USB problem

None of my USB devices are working (Thumbdrive, WUSB54G etc)

 

system.log:

 

USBF: 57.191

AppleUSBHCI[0x2f4000]::Found a transaction which wasn't moved in 5 seconds on bus 80, timing out!

 

installed versions:

IOUSBFamily 240.4.3

 

 

Please help.

The error sounds like a hardware issue, does your USB work in other scenarios (like booting different os)? if it doesn't, bummer, if it does, maybe want to try different versions of the iousbfamily kext, you can get the different versions (including ones w/ more debug info) here:

Also, I've heard some systems have trouble combining USB w/ PS/2, might want to try using a usb kb and mouse and restarting to see if they work, that is a random thing to try if you have the hardware laying around, i don't expect that to be the issue though

my devices works perfectly on my win xp. no doubt on this.

i tried using IOUSBFamily for 10.4.3, 10.4.6, 10.4.7 and the USB device is not detected at all

 

i have no usb keyboard so cant test that.

 

how do u know how to upgrade to 10.4.8? maybe ill just try that. thanks!
