amgine
Hello, I'm trying to install OS X 10.4.7 Jas version. I'm using a HP a250n, with a intel 865g chipset. I've completed the installation and reboot, but when i try to boot into the OS in verbose mode i get "Waiting for Root Device" over and over again. I'm assuming it's complaining about the hard drive. The drive is a Maxtor Fireball 3, ATA 100/133 40 gig HD. (one of the thin ones for those of you who work on these things). I have disabled onboard devices like audio and LAN already, just hoping to get to the desktop. The video card is a Geforce Mx or so. I've already tried the onboard video too. The board is a Asus P4SD-LA. I'm not expecting this drive to last more than a few months, but the installation did complete, so i'm thinking this is a configuration issue. What am i missing? i've done some searching here on the forum, but the error message is a hard term to search for. Thanks. --Konstantin--
Is it reboot after that? Look at the ACPI BIOS options and find something as "ACPI 2.0 tables" and enable it. Look at the ACPI BIOS options and find something as "ACPI 2.0 tables" and enable it. it doesn't reboot. It just continues to scroll. And there isn't a ACPI 2.0 tables in the BIOS. Thanks though. amgine
after more searching i found other solutions that did not work. the drive is ide 0 primary. the dvdrom has been disconnected to see if that causes the problem. I tried -v -x X86PC/ACPI. Windows is not installed in this machine, just trying to make a Mac OS X box. amgine
Ok, i've made progress. Dummy me forgot to install the Jas patches too. now, i'm getting it to load, but i don't get a GUI. It says "Apple login started" but all i see is text. Safe mode and non safe mode. It's always verbose, regardless if i hit F8 at boot or not.
